Rebels in Niger begin to form government structures

"Professor Soumana Boubacar, a scientist-researcher, is appointed minister - head of the administration of the chairman of the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland," the decree of the head of the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland, who assumed power, says.
According to the ANP agency, in this way, the leadership of the rebels begins to form the governing bodies of the country. A group of simultaneously published decrees also appoints the secretary general of the government in the rank of minister (the post was taken by Mahamane Rufai Lauali) and the governors of all eight provinces of Niger.
The legitimate prime minister, Uhumudu Mahamadou, who is in Paris, has said he remains "head of the government of President Mohamed Bazoum." At the same time, the head of the Foreign Ministry in his cabinet, Asumi Masudu, who is also out of the country, declared himself interim head of government. On the website of the government of Niger, Mahamadou is still listed as the head of the structure.
