Poll: 61% of French believe Le Pen can become next president

Over 60% of French people believe that the leader of the far-right National Rally party faction in the French Parliament, Marine Le Pen, could become the next president, Report informs referring to the BFMTV channel.

“Almost every second respondent believes Le Pen is able to “unite the French” (47%) and “has the necessary qualities to become president” (48%). 61% believe that she could become the next president,” the study says.

The only candidate capable of beating her in the elections, according to those surveyed, is former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe. Almost 6 out of 10 people (58%) think so.

Le Pen’s image is improving among all segments of the population, especially among citizens of retirement age. Some 32% believe that she will cope with the role of head of state better than Emmanuel Macron, whose presidential powers expire in the spring of 2027. Its support among the poor reaches 40%.
