Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said that the influx of refugees on the border with Russia is “an attack on the sovereignty of Finland and the EU,” Report informs referring to Yle.
“This is a clear attack on the sovereignty of Finland and the EU, on our borders,” Orpo noted.
He added that such an influx of refugees is unprecedented for Finland. At the same time, he claims that “this is an organized activity in which the authorities of another country participate.”
Earlier it became known that Finland was closing its border with Russia. The Vaalimaa and Niirala checkpoints stopped operating on the evening of December 15, one day after they opened.
