More than 46,000 illegal migrants crossed the border of Slovakia this year, entering the republic along the so-called Balkan route, passing further through Serbia and Hungary, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said, Report informs.
“Since January 1 of this year, more than 46,000 refugees have illegally crossed the border of Slovakia,” he said. “We have compiled a map of the places where illegal border crossings most often occur. This is where the main equipment is concentrated, allowing real-time recording of border violations on the part of Hungary.”
Strict control on the Slovak-Hungarian border should be ensured by joint forces of the police and army, Fico added. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles is expected. Bratislava borrowed special mobile equipment from the Czech Republic, which makes it possible to identify border violators within a radius of several kilometers.
