Norway to allocate about $19 million for purchase of ammunition for Ukraine

Norway will allocate about $19 million for the purchase of artillery ammunition for the Ukrainian military, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said.

Report informs, citing RBC-Ukraine, that the minister revealed the plans to purchase about 17,000 artillery shells of 122 and 152 mm caliber with this money.

Gram also noted that now it is especially important to be united in supporting Ukraine in its struggle against Russia.

"Aid provides the country (Ukraine - ed.) with the opportunity to defend itself against Russia's illegal offensive. Many countries are making their contribution and will continue to do so. Therefore, it is very important that we are in close dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities and coordinate assistance from the West," he stressed.

In early September Norway revealed plans to transfer 160 Hellfire anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, as well as launchers and their guidance units.
