20 out of 24 battalions of Hamas have been neutralized, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with the Merit Street Media TV channel, Report informs.

"We were able to destroy about 20 of the 24 terrorist battalions of Hamas. We have to destroy 4 more in Rafah. That's why we want to enter Rafah, because we cannot leave them there," the head of the Israeli government said.

Netanyahu also noted that Israel will face very strong resistance during the operation in Rafah, but expressed confidence that the country's army will overcome it.
