NATO believes that over 1 million people have been killed or injured in Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Report informs via DPA.

"Every week, there are over 10.000 killed or wounded on both sides in Ukraine, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels on Thursday. "Every day, this war causes more devastation and death."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously said that 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the war.

In addition, 370,000 soldiers were treated for war injuries, half of whom returned to military service.

US President-elect Donald Trump recently cited similar figures.

On social media, he wrote about 600,000 Russian soldiers killed or wounded and about 400,000 Ukrainian casualties to date.
