NATO Air Force drills kick off in Netherlands

NATO member states have begun "Frisian Flag 2022" exercises for air defense forces, Report informs via TRT Haber.
The exercises are held mainly in the airspace of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and partly in the airspace of Denmark.
The event is also attended by 30 fighter jets from the United States, the UK, France and Canada.
Along with F-35, F-18, F-16 fighter jets, AH-64 Apache, AS532U2 Cougar helicopters, SA-6 and SA-8 air defense systems are used in the drills.
Johan Van Deventer, commander of the Dutch Leeuwarden Air Base, which hosts the exercises, said it had nothing to do with the war in Ukraine and that such drills are held from time to time.
The exercises, attended by 1,000 people, will last until April 8.
