Myanmar earthquake death toll jumps to over 1,000

The death toll from the major earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday has jumped to over 1,000 on Saturday, the ruling junta in the country said, Report informs via DW.

The junta's information team said 1,002 are known to have died. Some 2,376 more were injured, the junta added.
