Chisinau has ended the situation of energy dependence on Russia, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said in an interview for the Vocea Basarabiei (Voice of Bessarabia) TV channel, Report informs referring to Interfax.
“The right bank of the Dniester no longer buys gas from Russia. We can no longer be blackmailed with gas. Last year we were in a situation where we didn’t know whether we would have natural gas in the winter, this year we know that we have it because we have made reserves and, accordingly, we can provide the country with natural gas,” she noted.
