Moldova's President, Maia Sandu, has stated that her country has offered assistance with the transit of Ukrainian grain since the beginning of the conflict, Report informs, citing European Pravda.
Currently, Moldova is trying to find a solution that will satisfy local farmers and help Kyiv.
Sandu now describes the situation with Ukrainian grain as a "complex issue."
"We are trying to find a solution. Discussions are taking place with Ukraine, Romania, and the European Commission to see how we can align the interests of
Moldovan farmers while also facilitating this grain transit from Ukraine. We are obligated to help Ukraine, which is currently ensuring our peace," President Sandu noted in an interview with RFI.
One such solution, as Sandu mentioned, is rapid investments in transportation and port infrastructure to increase capacity during this period.
"Because we want to boost our exports, we want to develop our infrastructure, and we can do that, particularly with the resources of the European Union," she added.
