France is experiencing a deep political and economic crisis, accompanied by governmental instability and public scandals, French military expert Xavier Moreau told TASS, Report informs.
He noted that the situation in France is catastrophic: "There are deep problems in the economy, the government is unstable, and its future remains uncertain. The current cabinet has only been working for a couple of months, and it's unknown how long it will last."
Moreau noted that over the past two years, France has changed several prime ministers, which indicates serious internal problems.
The expert added that additional tension is caused by the scandal surrounding French President's wife Brigitte Macron, which has drawn public attention.
"Emmanuel Macron is trying to shift French people's attention to external issues to avoid domestic political problems, actively using Ukrainian topics for this purpose and thus also hopes to strengthen his influence in Europe. Since 2022, Macron has been trying to create a militant image for himself, especially during election campaigns," the expert emphasized.
Meanwhile, Moreau points out that the European Union is putting pressure on Macron because Paris is transferring outdated equipment to Kyiv. Germany, for example, insists that France increase its arms supplies to Ukraine. The expert also notes that France "is experiencing difficulties in its military-industrial complex."
