The military budgets of NATO countries, with the exception of the US, have grown by $270 billion since 2014, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at the Munich Security Conference, Report informs referring to TASS.
European NATO countries and Canada have increased their military spending in recent years (since the NATO summit in Wales in September 2014) by $270 billion, he said.
This money was used to acquire new weapons, which are necessary to demonstrate NATO’s determination to prevent a new war, Stoltenberg added.
