MFA: Qatar may become platform for Russia-US talks

The Qatari authorities are monitoring the progress of the negotiations between Russia and the US on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine and welcome all diplomatic solutions that could help reduce tensions, official representative of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majed bin Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Ansari, said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, Report informs.

He noted that Doha is ready to provide its platform for negotiations.

"If our mediation experience or our negotiating platform are ever useful to the parties, Qatar is always ready to facilitate the negotiations," he said, noting that this is only possible if there is a corresponding request from the participants in the process.
