Media: UK considers reducing defense spending due to gap in budget

The UK's Defense Ministry is considering cutting military spending after the government discovered a budget gap, according to sources, Report informs via Financial Times.

The Defense Ministry has requested reports from military-industrial complex enterprises on possible budget reduction methods due to the country’s financial difficulties.

The publication highlighted that this decision could result in delays for some military contracts.

Previously, Secretary of State for Defense John Healey advocated for increasing military spending to 2.5% of GDP (currently about 2.3% of GDP). However, he did not detail how London plans to achieve this goal.
