French President Emmanuel Macron criticized Israel’s plans to escalate its military operation in the Gaza Strip, calling them a looming catastrophe.
According to Report, citing the Times of Israel, Macron said: "The Israeli cabinet’s announcement of expanding operations in Gaza City and the Mavasi camps heralds an unprecedented catastrophe and an unrestrained drive toward perpetual war."
He stressed that the war in Gaza must end immediately with the establishment of a permanent ceasefire.
Macron also proposed creating an international coalition under a UN mandate to stabilize the situation in the Gaza Strip.
