Lithuania, Poland conduct military exercises to defend Suwalki corridor

The military of Lithuania and Poland, with the participation of NATO allies, are conducting exercises in the area of the so-called Suwalki corridor, Report informs referring to the command of the Lithuanian army.
“Participants in the exercises were tasked with brigade-level headquarters training in planning and directing defensive military operations in interaction with units of NATO allies,” the statement said.
Some 1,500 military personnel from the Samogitia motorized infantry brigade and allied units, as well as about 200 units of military equipment, are taking part in the exercises. In addition to Polish units, the US and Portuguese military personnel are participating in the training.
The exercises will last until April 26.
