Lithuania closes entry to Russian citizens with valid Schengen visas

Citizens of the Russian Federation who have valid Schengen visas will not be able to enter Lithuania from 00:00 on September 19, Report informs citing local media.
The decision of the Seimas of Lithuania dated September 13 comes into force, according to which, in connection with the events in Ukraine until December 15, the state of emergency is extended and entry into the country is closed for Russian citizens, even if they have valid Schengen visa.
This norm is also supported by Poland and other Baltic countries. At the same time, Vilnius named the categories of Russian citizens who will be allowed into the country. This applies to Russian diplomats, representatives of the opposition, employees of companies carrying out transportation to other EU countries, as well as family members of persons who can present a valid residence permit in member countries or are citizens of member countries.
