Keir Starmer: Putin must sit down for unconditional ceasefire

Russian President Vladimir Putin must sit down at the negotiating table for an unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said at the plenary session of the European Political Community meeting in Tirana, Report informs.

If Russia does not sit down at the negotiating table, Putin will have to pay for it, he said. Yesterday was further proof that Putin is not serious about peace with Ukraine, he noted, adding that Russia is stalling for time and playing games, while Ukraine has shown itself to be a side of peace.

Addressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Starmer stressed that he and the entire Ukrainian people have demonstrated resilience and leadership.

Ukraine is certainly a side of peace, and it is necessary to unite as allies to ensure a ceasefire, even with the use of sanctions, the prime minister noted.
