Kazakhstan's national oil company, KazMunayGas (KMG), produced 10.8 million tons of oil in the first five months of 2025—exceeding its production target by 5%, or 535,000 tons.
According to the company's press service, cited by Report's Kazakhstan bureau, gas production for the same period totaled 4.76 billion cubic meters, surpassing the plan by 9%.
In 2024, KMG produced 23.8 million tons of oil, which was 2% (or 557,000 tons) above target.
"Our main focus is on maintaining production at mature fields through the deployment of new technologies. Enhanced oil recovery methods made it possible to extract an additional 418,000 tons of oil last year," said Asset Magauov, Deputy Chairman of KMG.
For reference, KMG's total production of natural and associated gas in 2024 amounted to 9.55 billion cubic meters.
