Kazakhstan ready to help McDonald's with supply of products to prevent chain closure

The government of Kazakhstan was and is now ready to assist in speeding up and simplifying the procedures for the supply of products from third countries to prevent the closure of the McDonald`s restaurant chain in the country, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said in a statement regarding the closure of McDonald`s restaurant chain in the country.

According to the statement, McDonald's restaurant chain was supplied with Russian-made meat products and semi-finished products, where the company had large distribution centers. But McDonald's exit from Russia caused problems with supplies.

The statement says that at this time, Kazakh producers of meat and dairy products have already begun work to bring production in line with McDonald's requirements, and at the beginning of 2023, work was planned to audit enterprises. However, the audit did not take place due to McDonald's closure.

Kazakhstan fully provides the domestic market for almost all types of meat. According to the latest data, 1.06 million tons of meat were produced in 2022, volumes increased by an average of 0.4% compared to last year. The highest growth - 4.3% - was posted in the production of horse meat and the production of poultry meat rose by 3.1%.
