Kaja Kallas grateful to Azerbaijan for assistance in evacuating EU citizens

The European Union has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its assistance in evacuating citizens of European countries from the escalation zone of the conflict between Israel and Iran, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said, answering questions from Azerbaijani journalists on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague, Report informs.

Kallas noted that she had been in contact with the Azerbaijani foreign minister since the escalation in the region, and also thanked him for organizing the evacuation of the EU diplomats and citizens through Azerbaijan.

She added that she discussed with her Azerbaijani counterpart the possible consequences of the war in Iran for Azerbaijan, including the likelihood of an influx of migrants.
