The attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico does not seem to have been coordinated; the attempt that took place the day before is more reminiscent of a single attack, Slovak political scientist Josef Hrabina told Report.
"It more looks like it was a lone shooter, a person that is alienated by the deeds of the government, yet we might find out later that it was coordinated attack. So far there is no such information and it seems that as an action of a lone shooter, it definitely will contribute to polarization of the society.
He said the comments of some parliamentarians also point to that.
"It definitely will contribute to more escalations and it definitely will result in some sort of political violence," the expert said.
He noted that none of the parties would benefit from such a situation.
"Shooting Fico will only reinforce him, it will make him into a martyr," Hrabina said.
