Italy tightens security measures ahead of New Year celebrations

Italian authorities are strengthening security measures ahead of the New Year celebrations, according to a circular of the Department of Public Security.

Report informs via TASS that, according to the information, measures are being taken in connection with the existing terrorist threat, as well as the risk of new actions by environmental activists.

"There is an increased risk of radical attacks amid the war in Gaza, but environmental activists may take advantage of the opportunity to stage attention-grabbing actions," the document says.
