Imran Khan's party walks out of parliament

The PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf Party, led by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, walked out of the parliament ahead of the election of a new prime minister, Report informs via RIA Novosti.

"We are announcing our resignation and leaving the parliament all as one," said Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a candidate for prime minister from the Tehreek-e-Insaf party and former foreign minister.

However, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi's name remained on the ballot. In this case, the opposition candidate, the chairman of the Pakistan Muslim League, Shahbaz Sharif, will be the only one for the post of Prime Minister.

The Pakistani National Assembly (lower house of parliament) on April 10 passed a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
