IAEA to check seawater quality for decades after discharge from Fukushima-1

IAEA inspectors will take water samples and check their content after the discharge from Fukushima, organization's Secretary-General Mariano Grossi said, Report informs via Interfax.
"Our most recent sampling and analysis of the seawater near the power plant shows that tritium levels are below Japan’s operational limit. Our independent monitoring and corroboration activities will continue during the entirety of the discharge, which is expected to take decades. As I have said before, the IAEA was there before, is there during and will be there after these activities," he said.
Grossi promised earlier that IAEA specialists will check safety to the last drop of water.
