The Palestinian radical movement Hamas called Israel's decision to resume military operations in the Gaza Strip a 'death sentence' for the hostages, Report informs via TASS.
The corresponding statement by a Hamas representative was published in the movement's Telegram channel.
The movement said in a statement that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "not only obstructed the delivery of food and medicine but also bombed the children of Gaza, killing them while they slept."
"The occupier has not fulfilled its commitments to mediators and to the entire world. Netanyahu decided to resume the war of annihilation as a lifeboat for himself from internal crises," the statement reads.
The movement indicated that Israel's return to war is a decision to sacrifice the captives and "issue them a death sentence."
The Hamas representative emphasized that Israel's actions "require Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the international community, to take measures to curb <...> cruelty and the war of annihilation against civilians."
