Hamas plans to release hostages with Russian citizenship

Hamas has expressed its readiness to release eight Russian citizens believed to have been held hostage since October 7, according to representatives of the Hamas movement, Report informs referring to Russian media.

“From the Russian side, through the Foreign Ministry, we received a list of citizens who have dual citizenship. We are very attentive to this list and will carefully process it,” the organization said, adding that civilians “who were captured and are now in Gaza, the movement treats them like guests.”

“Now we are looking for those people whose [list] was handed over by the Russian side. And as soon as we find them, we will release them,” Hamas representatives added.

A Hamas delegation visited Moscow on October 26, and according to the Russian side, they discussed the release of hostages and the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip.
