The Greek Armed Forces took part in the US military exercise Sage Wolverine 23 in the Ionian Sea, Report informs referring to newsbeast.gr.
The exercises are held August 2-11 in the Ionian Sea. They involve the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford with standard aircraft and escort ships.
The Greek Armed Forces participated in the exercise with F-16 fighters, which made 16 sorties, and with the frigate Elli, as part of its participation in the second permanent NATO Maritime Group.
In the course of joint training, complex operational scenarios for air defense exercises, offensive and defensive air operations were implemented. The participation of the armed forces in the Sage Wolverine 23 exercises contributed to the increase in the level of combat readiness and combat capabilities, as well as to the strengthening of the multi-level military coherence of the armed forces.
