Germany's Merz asks China's Xi to support Ukraine ceasefire efforts

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz asked President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China to support efforts to establish a ceasefire in Ukraine, Merz's spokesperson Stefan Kornelius said after two leaders held a call on Friday, Report informs via Reuters.
"The federal chancellor reported on the joint efforts of Europe and the US to achieve an early ceasefire. He called for support of these efforts," the spokesperson said in a statement.
