Georgian parliament approves amendments on gender quotas

Amendments to Georgia's Electoral Code, which imply the abolition of mandatory gender quotas, were approved by the Parliament in the third, final reading, with 85 votes against 22, Report informs citing the First Channel.
In addition, the draft law establishes a minimum of 30 candidates for Georgian Parliament membership on the party list, rather than 60.
The project initiated by the Girchi party was adopted by the Parliament in an accelerated manner.
