French Foreign Ministry advises its citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran

The French Foreign Ministry recommends that French citizens refrain from any travel to Iran, the ministry spokesman said commenting on the Paris-Tehran tension over publication of cartoons of Iran's top leader in Charlie Hebdo magazine, Report informs via TASS.
"France reiterates its permanent and strong commitment to freedom of the press, freedom of expression and the protection of journalists around the world," the French diplomat said. "As for our compatriots in Iran, we remind the Iranian authorities that they are responsible for the safety of our citizens in Iran. We also officially advise against any travel to Iran, given the high risk of illegal detentions by the country's authorities," the Foreign Ministry said.
