French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has reported threefold increase in antisemitic acts across the country over the past year.
According to Report, which cites radio station France Info, the first half of 2024 alone witnessed a shocking 887 incidents of antisemitism, compared to 304 in the same period of 2023.
France, the minister believes, is facing an "extremely strong wave of antisemitism." The alarming trend was further highlighted by a recent incident in May, where an armed assailant set fire to a synagogue in Rouen.
