Floods in Kashmir kill 32, dozens missing after torrential rains

At least 32 people have died and dozens remain missing after torrential rains triggered severe flooding in the remote mountain village of Chositi in the Kashmir region, Report informs, citing the Associated Press.
A senior official from the Disaster Management Authority confirmed that rescue teams have recovered 32 bodies and rescued 35 injured people. Indian authorities warned the death toll could rise.
More than 100 residents have been evacuated to safety, while around 50 people are still unaccounted for. Several survivors sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment at local hospitals.
The local meteorological bureau forecasts continued rainfall today, warning of a heightened risk of landslides and flash floods. Residents have been urged to avoid unstable structures, power lines, and old trees.
