Austria to declare three days of national mourning over Graz shooting

Austria will declare three days of national mourning in connection with the shooting at one of the schools in the city of Graz.

Report informs via local media that 10 people were killed, including the alleged perpetrator, who committed suicide. The 21-year-old man, a former student at the school, was found dead in one of the bathrooms. He opened fire with a pistol and a shotgun in two classrooms.

In addition, about 30 were injured as a result of the shooting.

At least five people are believed to have been killed in a school shooting in the Austrian city of Graz, Report informs via The Telegraph.

Police said a major operation is currently underway after gunshots were heard inside the school at 10am local time (9am BST) on Tuesday morning.

Local newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported that there were at least five fatalities inside the school and that police were searching the building. Police have not yet confirmed the number of casualties.

The public has been asked to avoid the area.

Footage showed dozens of police cars and ambulances racing to the scene.
