Fire at Shahran oil storage facility in Tehran brought under control

Iranian rescue teams have brought the fire at the Shahran oil storage facility in Tehran under control, Iran's Oil Ministry said in a statement, Report informs, citing the Iranian news agency IRNA.

"The fire at the Shahran oil storage and the fuel tank in southern Tehran has been brought under control," the statement said.

The ministry clarified that black smoke will continue rising from the site until the contents of the tanks are fully burned out, but there is no danger to the public.

Israel struck two oil storage facilities in Tehran, causing fires at both sites.

According to Report, citing Iranian agencies Fars and Tasnim, the attacked storage facilities were located in the Kan and Shahran districts.

Emergency services are working on-site to mitigate the aftermath of the strikes. No information has been released regarding casualties or injuries.
