A devastating landslide in southern Ethiopia has claimed the lives of 157 people, according to Report, which cites Reuters. The tragic incident occurred in the Geze-Gofa region, where heavy rainfall triggered the deadly landslide.
Ethiopia is currently in the midst of its rainy season, which began in July and is expected to continue until mid-September. The persistent downpours have been known to cause landslides in certain parts of the East African nation.
