Departures at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport have been suspended as a sign of protest against judicial overhaul, Report informs via Times of Israel.
"I ordered the immediate halt of takeoffs at the airport," the head of the workers' union at Ben Gurion Airport, Pinchas Idan said in a statement, without giving further details.
The move came minutes after the head of the Histadrut labor federation Arnon Bar-David declared a "historic" labor strike in an attempt to "stop the madness" of the government’s controversial judicial overhaul.
Bar-David said the strike will begin today if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not declare an end to the overhaul.
