The EU aims to expand digital and sustainable transport links with Central Asia, as well as attract European investments and develop technologies in the field of critical raw materials in this region, President of the European Council Antonio Costa said at a joint press conference with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, according to Report.
He noted that Europe is mobilizing more than 12 billion euros for the Central Asian region within the Global Gateway initiative.
"We strive to improve digital and sustainable transport connectivity, attract more European investments and contribute to technological development in the field of critical raw materials. Climate change is a key area for joint action," Costa said.
He also emphasized that the European Union is taking measures for sustainable water resource management, agricultural development, ensuring energy transition, and developing the green economy as a whole.
"We face common security challenges and are ready to intensify efforts through regular dialogue on security issues and addressing potential risks in Central Asia and Europe," he added.
