Congo plans to allocate $49M to combat Mpox

The Congolese government has announced plans to spend $49 million on emergency measures to fight Mpox (monkeypox), Minister of Health of Congo Samuel Roger Kamba Mulamba said, Report informs via Radio Okapi.
“The government has decided to allocate $49 million to the fight against Mpox. This amount does not include the cost of Mpox vaccination,” the minister stated.
Kamba Mulamba also mentioned that to prevent the spread of the virus, 3.5 million people in the country need to be vaccinated soon, and $600 million is required to purchase the vaccine.
