The Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the deadlock in relations with the United States, which emerged on Sunday, has been resolved, Report informs via TASS.

"The Government of Colombia informs that we have overcome the deadlock in relations with the US government," states the document posted on social media. The Colombian Foreign Ministry reported that Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo will travel to Washington "in the coming hours" to hold working meetings and exchange diplomatic notes.

"We will continue to receive Colombian citizens who return to the country as deportees, guaranteeing them dignified conditions as subjects of law," the message notes. It also indicates that the Colombian government, under President Gustavo Petro's leadership, intends to send a presidential aircraft to facilitate the return of compatriots who were supposed to arrive in the country on Sunday morning on deportation flights from the US. "Colombia declares that it will maintain diplomatic communication channels to guarantee the rights, national interests, and dignity of our citizens," the document emphasizes.
