China has decided to impose retaliatory visa restrictions on a number of US officials, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a briefing March 31, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
“In order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens, China has decided to impose administrative restrictions on US officials who spread lies on the issue of human rights and harm China’s interests,” the diplomat said.
However, he didn’t specify to whom the relevant measures apply.
Last week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US would impose visa restrictions on Chinese representatives who are seen as responsible for “repression of ethnic and religious minorities.”
