China's Defense Ministry: Taiwan's independence incompatible with regional peace

Taiwan's desire for independence will expose the island to the danger of war, official representative of the PRC Ministry of Defense Zhang Xiaogang said, commenting on the exercises of the Chinese army in the region, Report informs via TASS.

"Taiwan's independence is incompatible with peace in the Taiwan Strait. The desire for independence will only expose Taiwan to the danger of war and bring unbearable suffering to Taiwanese compatriots," Zhang Xiaogang said in a statement.

He noted that the army's maneuvers around the island are completely legal, necessary and reasonable.
