Canada-EU Leaders' Summit to take place in St. John's

European leaders will meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in St. John's next month for the Canada-EU Leaders' Summit, Report informs referring to CBC News.

Trudeau made the announcement on October 30, saying the summit will run from November 23-24.

"The Canada-EU relationship is more important than ever," Trudeau said in a statement. "Together, we will work to grow the middle class, improve quality of life, and build clean economies on both sides of the Atlantic."

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will be in attendance.

On the agenda will be progress on commitments established during the last summit in Belgium two years ago, including creating jobs, fighting climate change, and increasing collaboration on technology, research and innovation.

The leaders also plan to renew their support for strengthening trade under the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.
