Bulgaria to increase visa fee for Russian citizens

Bulgaria will increase the visa fee for Russian tourists from 35 to 80 euros, Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov said in an interview with the BNT TV channel, Report informs.
He reminded that earlier citizens of the Russian Federation enjoyed a simplified visa regime. He stressed that it is possible to ban Russian citizens from entering the country, but it is also possible to increase the cost of visas for them.
“This is the decision of the EU, with which we don’t fully agree, but this will have to be taken into account,” Dimitrov said.
He added that since the beginning of the year, more than 60,000 Russian citizens have visited Bulgaria, more than 70% have real estate by the sea.
