Blinken forcibly removes two reporters protesting during his final press conference

Outgoing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken faced protests from some reporters while discussing Gaza at his final press conference at the State Department, marking the conclusion of his term, Report informs.

American journalist Max Blumenthal interrupted Blinken’s remarks at the beginning of the briefing and said 300 reporters in Gaza were targeted by US bombs.

"Why did you keep the bombs flowing when we had a deal in May, we all knew we had a deal. Everyone in this room knows we had a deal, Tony, and you kept the bombs flowing. Why did you allow my friends to be massacred?" shouted Blumenthal.

Blumenthal was forcibly removed from the hall by police.

As Blinken continued his speech, he later faced a protest from another reporter on the same topic. American journalist Sam Husseini was expelled from the hall by three police officers after his protest.

“I was sitting here quietly and now I am being manhandled by two or three people. You pontificate about a free press? You are hurting me.”

UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq stated at a press conference that what happened is unacceptable, and everyone must respect the immunity of reporters and freedom of speech.
