Biden freezes Afghan assets in US banks

President Joe Biden signed a decree blocking the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in the United States to the tune of $7 billion.
As Report informs, citing TASS, the United States will reserve half of the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan for the possible payment of compensation for claims in US courts.
The US will transfer about $3.5 billion from the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan to a trust fund to help Afghans.
