The Central Bank of Bangladesh has asked the country's financial institutions to limit cash withdrawals to 100,000 Bangladeshi taka (about $850) per day, Report informs via TASS.
Despite the limit on cash withdrawals, account holders can transfer any amount of funds to another account or conduct digital transactions in the amount of more than 100,000 taka.
The Central Bank also recommended paying with checks. How long the Central Bank's directive will be in effect is not specified, but it will be in force at least until the new interim government of Bangladesh is sworn in.
