The Australian police have declared the arson attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne a terrorist act.
Report informs via TASS that, according to Commissioner Shane Patton of the Victoria Police, after analyzing all the collected evidence, specialists from the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) concluded that the synagogue arson was "most likely a terrorist act".
"The investigation is now being treated as a terrorist act. A special counter-terrorism group and the Australian Counter-Terrorism Bureau are handling the case," clarified Deputy Commissioner Chrissy Barrett of the Australian Federal Police.
The police also reported that the number of suspects in the arson organization has increased to three, but refrained from further comments, citing the secrecy of the investigation.
