Ali Bagheri Kani: Tehran ready to reset relations with West

Tehran is ready to reset relations with the West, but the next step to improve them must be taken by the Western side, said acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Ali Bagheri Kani, Report informs referring to TASS.

"We believe that now [the time has come] and it is the turn of the other party to prove its sincere [intentions] to begin interaction and open a new chapter in the relationship. We have always been extremely honest and serious, of course, we will be honest and serious when it comes until ensuring interaction with all international players,” the politician said in an interview with Newsweek magazine.

He was commenting on the question of the likelihood of improving relations with the West after the election of the new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
